Bohol is the tenth largest island of the Philippines and is located in the middle of the Visayas region. Because it is surrounded by other islands on all sides, it doesn't experience as much heavy typhoons and rains unlike the other parts of the region.
The beaches are located in Panglao Island. One of the most developed beach on Panglao is the Alona Beach. It is located southwest of the island and stretches about one and a half kilometers long. There are a lot of nice, affordable resorts equipped with diving, snorkeling and dining establishments.
A friendly warning: sea urchins inhabit the sea in large numbers around twenty or thirty meters away so be careful when wading.
